My name is Mr. Demetrius Casson and I am excited to be a part of the NASA Goddard Child Development Center Team as the Food Service Manager.  I am a native Washingtonian but currently reside in Hyattsville, MD.  I am a proud father of a 13-year-old son. Each day, I learn from him, and he stretches me as a father and a man.  When I think back to my childhood, my happiest moments were spent in the kitchen with family, prepping big meals that would bring the community together.  I have held on to many family recipes that I am eager to share with my own son.

This year makes 15 years in the Food Service Industry for me, and I am looking forward to putting my skills up for testing by the youngest, and pickiest eaters.  I have worked in the heat of fast paces, high-end fine dining establishments, banquet/buffet dining, and full-course meal service, over my tenure.  Cooking brings me joy and allows for my creativity to thrive.  There is no better feeling than watching someone enjoy a healthy, tasty meal that you have created.  I believe children are the best critics because they are always honest.  I have some awesome menu ideas and I can’t wait to roll them out.

In my free time, I love traveling, spending time with family and my dog.
