After three years, it is very hard to say goodbye. But, we’re off to 1st grade. Both my daughter and I have grown so much during our experience here at GCDC. Being an active parent (School Board, Room-parent, volunteer, etc) has been a joy. My daughter has indicated that she notices all I do for her school and that makes her happy and want to do things for others. I’m amaze at what she has learned during her time here (reading, comprehension, adding/subtracting, science, art, community service, etc). We both love and will definitely miss GCDC. I encourage anyone who haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing this outstanding Day Care to jump aboard. The ride it AWESOME! ~ G. Feaster

We enrolled our child in GCDC to socialize with other kids, to learn and to develop in a positive and stimulating environment. GCDC has provided all of these. It is one of the best daycares I know of, and will send my other kids here. ~ M. Petrenko

NASA GCDC offers a top notch education to its students with a wide range of learning opportunities. My husband and I believe the Center has well prepared our oldest son, who has been enrolled since he was 2 years old, for 1st grade in Howard County Public schools. Our youngest will be joining on August 25 when school starts and we are looking forward to his participation in the program! ~ J. Brennan

Caleb just finished kindergarten in a dual language Spanish Immersion school reading English at a 2nd grade level and near the top of his class in Spanish reading and comprehension! He had an excellent year, in part because of his great pre-K experience at GCDC. He got a lot of complements on his maturity and vocabulary all year. ~ L. I have long said if GCDC continued up through grade school, I would gladly pay double for such an excellent experience. Your teachers and staff are amazing, loving, and inspiring. I am convinced there is no better pre-school. I sincerely appreciate the time and dedication everyone puts into their work. We are sad to not have our daughter there for kindergarten, but we are excited she will be joining her brother at the same elementary school next year. Fantastic preschool. My older child is in a very good public school, one of the best in the state, and her kindergarten education just does NOT measure up to the preschool experience at GCDC. The creativity, individual attention, and knowledge of the students’ needs are all far beyond what a child receives in elementary school. What an excellent preparation our kids got here … I only wish the primary school teachers were as good as the ones at GCDC. A++++++ ~G. Rohrbach

I feel incredibly blessed to have had my grandson, Matthew at GCDC. I cannot imagine a school where he could have been more nurtured and deeply cared about. He is more than ready for first grade and also has learned valuable interpersonal skills that will serve him well in his upcoming school years. Thank you.

I can’t say enough good things about the program at GCDC. My children both thrived in their classes. If not for a job transfer, we’d have stayed until both kids aged out. GCDC was an amazing experience for my son and family! The exposure that is offered to the children is top notch! Both of our children spent a year at GCDC and we are quite happy with the program. My six years old, still loves to see her pre-K teacher from GCDC. I think the biggest draw for us is the community that GCDC serves. I really enjoyed meeting the parents and my kids really liked the children who were in their groups. I don’t think we had any conflicts or disputes in the two years we were a part of the program. We were also very happy with the addition of meals. The menus sounded really good each week! ~ N. The Goddard Child Development Center is a gem. The educators at GCDC go above and beyond to ensure a great learning experience for the students. The administrative staff are attentive and caring, and make sure that GCDC is always running at 100 percent. The Director is a truly Super Woman who’s direction has made GCDC one of the BEST schools in Maryland for 2-K! It has been such an amazing experience to watch my son grow through this amazing program. I will truly miss all the staff and teachers who have had such an amazing impact on my son’s future! ~ R. Tyler had a great experience these past four years at GCDC. The time went very quickly. We really saw Tyler grow and develop in his last year as a Rocket. Ms. Chew and Ms. Lakshini did an awesome job with the kindergarten class and we particularly were impressed with Ms. Chew’s ability to understand and appreciate each child as an individual and meet them where they are in terms of their development, personalities and quirks. GCDC has done a great job with both my children. My daughter is doing extremely well in grammar and is far ahead of peers in math and reading. My son had many behavioral issues when he started at GCDC. The teachers, directors and I worked closely to figure out the best way to help. He has grown a great deal and is able to function in the classroom. At her previous preschool school our daughter dreaded going each day. From the very first day at GCDC, our daughter loved going and when we would come to pick her up would routinely ask to stay later. Our son has attended GCDC since the age of two years old. He has learned so much over the past four years. We believe he is well prepared for first grade. Our son had a difficult transition from the three/four year old class to the four/five year old class. But knowing his teachers were very understanding and willing to assist with his transition, was truly a blessing for us. We debated whether we were going to let him stay for kindergarten and we are glad we did allow him to stay. GCDC has been the best experience for my kids. The Pre-K program prepared them academically and socially. I am so grateful to have been apart of the GCDC experience. Goddard Child Development Center’s summer program was filled with fun, hands on activities while educating children the concepts of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Our daughter was cheerfully welcomed every morning by GCDC staff and parents. Her transition from a home provider to a center was smooth and perfectly handled to suite her individual personality. Within a few weeks, we didn’t have anymore tears at drop off. Thank you to the Constellations teachers for creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment for Giana. ~ R. Melvin

I can proudly recommend NASA Goddard Child Development Center as a top notch daycare and pre-school/kindergarten program. I have had two boys attend school here from 2009-2017. My oldest son attended Kindergarten at GCDC which more than adequately prepared him for 1st grade in Howard County public schools. The current Director, Dr. Storey has done a phenomenal job in ensuring that the students are exposed to STEM activities, in securing a healthy lunch catering contract, in providing parental enrichment and development opportunities and in maintaining a high quality educational program for all students. Diversity is respected and honored with cultural activities, the children are exposed to education and science that only Goddard Space Flight Center could provide. Not only have my children benefited from the tremendous teaching staff, but as parents, we have enjoyed piece of mind that our children are receiving a high quality education. Thank you! Our family will sincerely miss GCDC, and all of the staff here as my youngest son turns a new page in his life- Kindergarten. Keep up the great work!!! ~ J. Brennan

This is a really terrific program– engaging for the kids and a patient staff committed to building upon each child’s character and talents. While it sometimes seemed like the level was pitched a bit high for my son and that he wasn’t “keeping up,” I was pleased to find that he is now, at the end of his preschool year, reading very basic books with simple sentences and short vowels. I am confident he is well prepared to start kindergarten in the fall. ~ S. Lea

It has been great, memorable, and successful 3 years at GCDC with our daughter Cyra. She has grown, matured, and gained knowledge that she will cherish forever. GCDC has been another home for her and its very hard to say good bye. The best part, is that she can come anytime to say hello to her teachers and GCDC staff.  Our oldest son and daughter passed GCDC too and continue to do very well at school and we believe the foundation that they had gained @ GCDC helped to shape and prepare them well not only in school but also focusing in general life activities with great organization skills, very independent and with confidence. GCDC opened their eyes on many things and they still referring different scenarios as ” oh! I learned that at GCDC”. Cyra received unique preparations that will help her to face any challenge ahead of her and therefore we are 100% sure and have confidence that Cyra will continue well as her siblings. As parents, we would like to thank all GCDC teachers and staff for great and wonderful years. ~ The Mollels

We sent both of our children to GCDC for a total of seven years. We have truly felt like a part of the GCDC family! We have been so impressed with the quality of the education that our children have received, as well as the caring support from the teachers and staff. We are so sad to be leaving the school now that our youngest is headed to elementary school, but we know that the foundation they received at GCDC will stay with them throughout their whole education!! ~ M. One of the things I appreciate most about GCDC are the positive attitudes and smiles I saw with the teachers and staff every single day I took my daughters to school. They love children. William and Zachary have had a wonderful time at GCDC over the last two years. They have learned so much and will be way ahead of their peers as they enter public school in the fall. We are very happy with our collective experience at GCDC.

GCDC is a wonderful institution. The teachers and staff have been excellent to my children and to myself. I recently took a job outside Goddard Space Flight Center and had to leave GCDC. Knowing that my son would no longer be able to attend GCDC was the main reason I considered not taking the new position. I don’t think I can find a place outside of Goddard that I trust as much I as trust GCDC with my children. ~ S. Price
